Recruit soldiers and develop them in order to take them into combat, and

uncover and research extraterrestrial technology to enhance and expand your

access to the thrilling XCOM: Enemy Within expansion pack, as well as the

Elite Soldier, Slingshot and Second Wave add-on content. A new Genetics Lab

Pretty much clean install of ubuntu 14.04 64bit, steam games work without problem, got following error when trying to launch.

error while loading shared libraries: libSDL2-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
XCOM - XCOMLauncher returned no game
XCOM - No game launched
Uuuuu!
buntu!
:P
had to
What version is this? Can it work with the long war mod?
For any one trying to get this to work in 12.04 64bit, add "ppa:zoogie/sdl2-snapshots" to your system's Software Sources, then apt-get update and install "libsdl2-image". SDL2 is only in the repos for 13.10 and up so for any one running ubuntu distros newer then 12.04 just apt-get libsdl2-image from the ubuntu repo to get the game's loader to work. For other distros you may have to compile from source from libsdl.org
For those of you getting the same error, if you have steam installed you can use this command to launch the game:

~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/run.sh /path/to/game/xcom.sh

- obviously change the /path/to/game to your game dir...

BUY if you like !
it worked for me with:
1. Place yourself in:
/.steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime
2. And enter this:
./run.sh /path/to/game/xcom.sh

*replace /path/to/game with your actual game dir.

im new in linux, sorry if i cant explain myself better
can someone tell me how to get this to work on fedora 20?
